Our StoryRooster Street Butcher was founded in 2012 by Tony and Kristina Page who wanted to share their love of food with their Lancaster County neighbors. Their dream was to remind people that healthy meat and simple ingredients can be transcendent, can be found locally, and are worth sharing with others. They also wanted to remind folks that everyone should try to slow down, enjoy the moment, and appreciate natures bounty.
Tony and Kristina also wanted to offer a space that customers felt safe about their food choices, people could get cooking tips and where you could talk directly to the butchers. The goal was to create transparency—a novel concept in today's world. Of course times have changed and their tiny company grew, allowing them to offer two retail locations and a one restaurant & bar location—in addition to their butcher shop and production facility. Their products became available online, and the popularity of their Cedar Street restaurant in Downtown Lititz meant that more and more people soon came to know the Rooster Street name. After ten years, the Page family decided it was time to pursue new interests and step away from the butcher and restaurant world. In 2022, Rooster Street Butcher was officially sold to David Stoudt, owner of the popular Bulls Head Public House and Lititz Springs Inn in Downtown Lititz. While the butcher stand locations and online butcher shop have closed, Rooster Street still butchers its meats in-house and continues to offer the same menu that changed the culinary landscape of Lititz, PA. In 2023, Rooster Street Brewing Company began operating at our Cedar Street location. Helmed by Head Brewer Josh Kauffman, the brewery produces a wide range of craft beer for Rooster Street. You can also find these delicious brews at our sister restaurants—the Bulls Head Public House and Lititz Springs Inn—along with additional locations throughout Lancaster County. We hope you enjoy our housebrewed beers on your next stop at Rooster Street. |
